"Play with Animals"
Angelina´s view looking after her kids.
Elena, Alfonso and Angelina are "Play with Animals", an installation which was designed in order to create links or connections between strangers.
By designing this installation my aim is to promote social interaction. The installation combats "superindividualism",
a contemporary social phenomenon which I see as one of the main problems in our society.

In a subtle and indirect way, users get linked together by operating the animals to make them interact each other,
in this way they escape from the isolation in which we live nowadays.

 Alfonso is Angelina´s son.

Two little kids having some fun playing with animals.

 Angelina with her daugther Elena.

The installation perfectly worked. The goal was archieved, social relations were promoted.

"bEaUtyFuLL meSs"

I´ve been always pretty messy at work.

With time and many hours, I´ve got the knowlege of working clean, organized and methodicly.

Eventhougth  one of the most enjoyable things of being a designer (craftman/producer) is making the mess around by creating something new, the willdness and freedom of working with no limits or restrictions.

This intuitive way of working is almost magic for me.

You wont see two equal piezes .

.

"Beutyfull Mess" Sketches decalog:

1.Do not think.

2. Do not take too much time.

3. Not focus in anything special.

4. Let the instrument/material go.

5.The more energy you spend the betters results you get, or not.

6. No Copy.

7.You are playing so take it serious, otherwise it´ll be boring.

8. Have fun.

Bellow, some examples of how the decalog works. These shapes were draw under different kinds of alteration states…

…they inspired the final piece´s shape.

Beautyfull Mess is produced by having a lot of fun and a real shyless mood...

"RobotHand" Installation.

Opening of "El Porron" during Dutch Design 2008

Perfect future = Simbiosis beetwen Technology and Nature

We can´t imagine a future without technology but also there´s no future without nature.

Here the robot hand is holding, taking care of a little garden which represents nature.

Process picks:

Emplacement. "El Porron" building.

 Materials:Aluminium Tubes.

checking proportions.  For such a big meaning, we wanted something big...

Set up.

Getting fingers up. Behind, our lovely church (were the studio is based).

!

Go up and down, up and down...

And this is it. "Robot Hand with Garden Inside"

The building during the opening. The ligthing gave the fine tuning.

There´s no future without nature, so let´s take care of it with our technology.

This proyect was a collaboration beetwen Studio Alejandro Cerón and Mr. Jonas Hertwig

"TV Chair" Pay attention project.

Did you ever suspect about the information you got in T.V.?

or even worse did you ever compared, the TV now with the one you grew up?

Does TV alter the personality of a litle kid? Could TV even shape his or her behavior?

The Greatest manipulation machine ever invented is manipulated to change its use.

After asking many people I´ve arrived to this conclusion: Like me, nearly 80% of “developed” people have been manipulated.

And the 100% of those people are fully agree with this idea, we can´t trust TV anymore.

                                                                                                                                                                                   Alejandro Cerón(C)08

"Mass Production"

Nowadays,  we´re surrounded and overloaded by bullshit to fill our EGO... I ask myself: "Do we really need all these goods, How much do we waste per day?!".

The repulsive and overloaded shape contains a message agains mass production, its politics and consecuences.

I wonder how many crafty old knowledge we´ve lost after the pasted 20th. century, since the industrial revolution started.

And all that tradicion of well hand made objects, trated and worked with such a good care.

How far is a product from IKEA than one of those old handmade...? Anyway, is crisis time and we´ll always choose the cheap option.

But, how many times have you seen the same objects in different houses? Doesn´t this look like a asthetic globalization? How fucked up is that?!

                                                                                                                                                                                               Texture Detail.

Even thougth, some products have their life, their history. People behind who produced them and gave their sign and human breath to them.

This special craft products with their own caracter are definedly more valuable than mass produced ones, even if these last ones are cheaper.

In the diversity you´ll find the richness. Plurality is the future!!

Mass Production first piece during the process. We are still researching and trying out...

The "Mass Production"Chair is designed  by following the durability levels that some companies use, this means "Mass Chair" is extremly fragil and has a limited life span.

"Most Valuable Thing" Your life in an object.

Imagine to collect all your life in one object. Fascinated by the sentimental value that aparently useless objects can reach I started this proyect...

I began collecting all that useless stuff but wich had an special meaning for me.
I looked for some pictures from funny, good or bad moments in my life, love letters, some of my song´s lirycs, drawings from when I was in primary school,
the cutting I had of guitars, comics, covers from inspiring bands, cinema, concerts, exibitions, tickets...
Ones collected I glued together, building a functional piece. My life in one object.
This became the most valuable object I ever had.

"TalkingLigth"  Tribute to Achille Castiglioni.

Ligth and game. From there and inspired by the Master Castiglioni we adapted his Boa ligth to our times.

We used LED´s and  reused materials to create this playfull and elegant object.

"TalkingLight" can be standed thanks to its strong metal flexible cable.

Out and indoor light, "TalkingLight" ables you to shape it and so create your own design.
